AFP offers Chapter Membership Incentive
Grants which provides 50% of the cost for
individuals wishing to join AFP. Certain criteria must
be met. The grants are exclusively for non-members, not member
renewals. For further information, contact Melissa

Active:
Open to persons who have at least one (1) year of
experience at the time of application as fund-raising professionals,
are self-employed or associated with an organization, institution or
firm and compensated for his/her services. Active members hold some
degree of accountability for income-generation within the
philanthropic process; estimate at least a quarter of their time is
spent on fund-raising related responsibilities; subscribe to the
Code of Ethical Principles and Standards of Professional Practice
("Code") and its bylaws; promote the Donor Bill of Rights and are
employed or have been employed by an institution or organization
that provides benefits to society. Active members enjoy full voting
privileges.
Retired: May be extended to individuals who
no longer practice as paid professionals in the field but have been
Active Members for the immediate past five (5) consecutive years. As
with all membership categories, you must subscribe to the AFP Code
and its bylaws and promote the Donor Bill of Rights. Retired members
receive full voting privileges.
Introductory: Open to persons newly
employed in the field; full-time students in a degree-granting,
certificate or diploma program; members who work for grassroots
organizations with an operating budget of $250,000 or less;
executive directors who spend less than 25% of their time on
fund-raising related responsibilities; and volunteers. All must
subscribe to the AFP Code of Ethical Principles and Standards of
Professional Practice and its bylaws and promote the Donor Bill of
Rights. Membership in this category is limited to a two-year
duration. Introductory members are non-voting members.
Affiliate: May be extended to persons who
are engaged in fields related to fund raising, volunteers, or those
who have mutual interests with fund-raising professionals. Affiliate
members subscribe to the AFP Code of Ethical Principles and
Standards of Professional Practice and its bylaws; and promote the
Donor Bill of Rights. Affiliates do not have voting
privileges.

$270, Introductory $150, Associate $270
(Active: $50 of membership fee is returned to
the chapter)
